It was once explained to me that marriage is like a family trip to Hawaii. The irony is when I heard this I was on my way to Germany so I borrowed a few tapes from a friend to make the eight hour flight tolerable. This enlightenment immediately grabbed my attention, not because it was witty or clever but my curiosity of how does a trip to Hawaii pertain to marriage.

“Can you hear me now”, is one of the most famous quotes to hit the commercial advertisements of our time. This catchy saying was designed to enhance the sale of cell phone for a specific company. This expression is so widely used in the 90s that it continues to spill over into the 21st century.
What do you do when God calls? Do you take a message and call him back later? Do you forward your call? Do you delete the message? Or do you simply not answer.
Did you know that God has a phone number 333? Jeremiah 33:3 “Call on the Lord and he will answer.”
Have you ever had a trying day? A day when it seems that nothing goes right. Everywhere you turn you’re at fault and you’re feeling the pressure of being overwhelmed?
I recently had one of those days. A day where it seemed the earth shook and then opened up and I fell through to the bottom.

After work I routinely hop into my car, loosen my tie and reach for the radio. I turn on my favorite jazz station because it always seems to slow down my day. Despite the traffic I usually enjoy the thirty-mile commute home from Delaware to Bel Air Maryland. It generally gives me a chance to disconnect from the workday before I hit the doorstep of the place called home. It was a Monday, after another eventful day at work when I pulled onto the busy highway with the melody of jazz filing my car and clearing my head. Almost immediately, I spotted a black Sports Utility Vehicle up ahead. The SUV caught my attention because, despite the heavy traffic, it was dodging in and out of the lanes. I wondered what could be so important that a person would drive so recklessly in rush hour on interstate 95?
